Williams papers, 1877-1956 (bulk 1904-1955).

Collection includes drafts of manuscripts, reprints, bound volumes, publishers' prospecti, correspondence, research notes, photographs, drawings, plans, and reports relating to his teaching and research in physics, as well as a small amount of personal papers documenting his private life. His extensive correspondents are listed in the appendix. The collection also includes printers' proofs on a number of subjects including: magnetisam, and dynamic magnetism, history of physics at Amherst College, pipe organs, balloon testing devices for World War I, meteorology, telephone, Andrè-Marie Ampére, standard condensors, sunspots, and the American Society for Metals.
